The UNDERGROUND is an extensive area underneath Mount Ebott on Ebott Earth. It is the place where, after a long war, the Monsters were sealed, and the humans ruled the surface. The UNDERGROUND is divided into many different segments: The RUINS, part of an old fortress; SNOWLAND, containing Snowdin, which is, unsurprisingly, full of snow; WATERFALL, a place filled with strange plants and musical inhabitants; HOTLAND, a volcanically active fire site; HIGH HOTLAND, home to many spiders, effectively the attic of the UNDERGROUND; The CORE, a power plant generating power for the whole of the UNDERGROUND; and finally, NEW HOME, the capital, named so because their king (Asgore) is terrible at naming things.
